In the early 2000s, as the first serious UK carbon compliance frameworks were taking shape, a small team of practitioners began working with organisations to measure, certify and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. There was no established playbook. The tools were inadequate.
So we built what we needed.
Every product in the Truth Carbon Group exists because a Carbon Saver certification revealed it was needed. Every methodology was tested in the field before it was documented. Every tool was designed to solve a problem we had personally encountered.
Our technical team has been together since the beginning. The expertise here is not the result of a hiring round or an acquisition. It is the product of twenty years of doing the work — in the field, with real clients, under real scrutiny.
Carbon Saver Limited founded. The Carbon Saver GOLD Standard is established — one of the UK's first independently verified carbon certification schemes. The Environment Agency formally assesses and approves it as equivalent to the Carbon Trust Standard.
Carbon Verification Limited incorporated. Years of certification work revealed that independent verification required structural separation — not a department, a genuinely independent company with its own governance and professional liability.
Carbon Advisory opens its knowledge base. Technical notes and methodologies written for certification work are made freely available — consultancy-grade guidance built from real experience, not theoretical frameworks.
TruthCarbon launches. Built by the people who spent twenty years on the verification side of the desk — carbon footprinting, supplier engagement and NZi KPI management, designed by practitioners who know what a verification-ready output actually needs to contain.
